The year 2020 was one to remember! Despite the hiccups brought on by the pandemic, we strived and pushed forward to bring our vision of Aluna.Social to life. We’re excited to say that significant milestones were reached, although it wasn’t always easy. Here we reflect with pride on our 2020 achievements:
Aluna’s Growth in a Nutshell
Over the course of the year, our users, trading volumes, and team, all grew tremendously. We closed 2020 with over 5,500 users, a 10,000% increase in trading volume to $20M per month, and a growing team of 6 full-time members and 4 part-timers.
Launch of Copy & Counter Copy-Trading
In April 2020, our long-awaited Copy Trading and Counter Trading features went live (currently in Beta). Copy Trading allows users to automatically copy positions when a selected user (called “Leader Trader”) opens a position. We also introduced a novel feature called Counter-Copy Trading, which allows you to do the opposite of what the “Leader Trader” is doing. You can copy or counter copy numerous traders, with a maximum of 10 positions per leader a day.

New Leaderboard Feature
Shortly after the launch of our flagship platform came the launch of Aluna.Social Leaderboard, a feature that lists all traders on Aluna along with their trading performance across multiple exchanges. Leaderboard allows you to easily find and sort top traders based on their risk, consistency, number of trades, win rate and overall performance (sum of P&L of all the trades).
New additions to the Leaderboard in 2021 will include:
- `AlunaP&L%` that discounts leverage used and normalises performance metrics across different exchanges.
- “Reward/Risk” and “Profit Factor” stats.
- Aluna Trading Tournaments — where users will be automatically enrolled in the Leaderboard and participate in monthly tournaments with ALN and other prizes.

Integration with BitMEX
To add to the list of exchanges we already work with, including Binance, Bitfinex, Bittrex and Poloniex, in 2020 we’ve also integrated with BitMEX. By connecting your BitMEX account to Aluna, you are able to now view your portfolio and manage your positions, create and cancel orders, and automatically share your trades and participate in the Leaderboard. Soon you will also be able to choose to copy or counter-trade other trades on BitMEX via Aluna.Social.

Customised TradingView Charts and Strategy

ALN Seed Sale Was a Success
Mid-2020 we held our Token Seed Sale which was oversubscribed! During the seed sale, 10% of the total ALN supply was sold, raising $500,000 from numerous investors including Genesis Block Ventures, CEO of DeversiFi, Ex-VP of CoinMarketCap and many more! We are extremely grateful for all the support and will be announcing our strategic partners in the coming weeks.

Aluna Token Airdrops
2020 also saw us host 2 Airdrops, helping us bring brand awareness of Aluna.Social to crypto traders worldwide, and in return rewarded participants with ALN tokens. The next Airdrop will take place in January 2021, so make sure you’re subscribed to our newsletter to get notified of the start date! Subscribe here.
Although ALN tokens are currently only available to Private Sale Participants, Aluna Airdrops allow you to get your hands on some ALN that can later be used to pay for PRO subscriptions on our platform or traded on Decentralised Exchanges. ALN tokens will allow you to get discounts when paying fees, play prediction games, stake and farm.
Platform Security and Smart Contract Audit
To end 2020 with a bang, we were delighted to hear that Aluna.Social successfully completed a security Audit carried out by CertiK, an edge-standards cybersecurity firm founded by Yale and Columbia University Computer Science professors. CertiK audited our codebase containing the Aluna Token, the Aluna Rewards Pool, the Aluna Token Vesting, and the Aluna Boost Pools smart contracts, testing our contracts against possible attacks, reviewing our code for compliance issues, assessing smart contract logic, and more.

Kicking off 2021 and Beyond
2020 was an exciting year, and although it was full of challenges, we’re very excited about the progress and our accomplishments. In our view, things are only just starting!
